Prerequisites

Overview​

The following document outlines the required pre-requisites prior to installing Edgify’s Device agent.

Please execute the following steps prior to installation:

General Prerequisites for installation​

  • Account Token: Coordinate with Edgify the amount and type of devices you plan to install - so that Edgify can supply you the relevant Account Token

  • Camera Prerequisites

    • Camera for Self Service Scales: Connect a USB Camera with at least 720p and 20fps.

    Edgify recommends using this camera: Logitech c505.

    • Camera for SCO or Lane POS: For SCO & Lane POS, Edgify suggests to connect a USB camera on a pole or on top of your SCO/POS.

Prerequisites for Linux​

  • Linux OS: Setup a Linux Machine with Ubuntu 16.04 or a higher version. (Note: If you are running on Windows, then we recommend using the VMWare Workstation as a Virtual Machine provider for running the Linux virtual guest machine. You can download a Linux image iso file here).

  • Docker Engine: Install Docker Engine (ubuntu): Docker engine installation

  • Docker Hub Account Access: Edgify uses Docker Hub for hosting the containers repository. Ask Edgify for a username and password.

Prerequisites for Windows​

Please execute the following steps prior to installation:

  1. Obtain from Edgify an account_token.txt file
  2. Make sure you have OS permissions to modify folders on your C Drive
